Not the typical heroin addict?

When I pictured heroin, I pictured some crazy crackhead with no shoes under a bridge. You never think that is going to be you. And it never was me. I was never under a bridge, and I always had shoes."

-Socialite and Recovering Heroin Addict Nicole Richie, 2007, in an interview with Nylon Magazine

phew! i'm always worried about nicole richie's possible lack of footwear. I'm glad to know that even in her darkest moments, she had shoes! The heroin problem, that's secondary...

This quote seemed to start off very thoughtful and then turned into something puzzleing. I'm not quite sure what she was trying to say...that she was a more glamorous addict?...that as long as you aren't homeless or shoeless your addiction isn't that bad?...what? I don't get it.

I am not sure how I feel about this one - should she be proud that she was a rich heroin addict?

Stereotypical girl, more concerned about shoes than anything else.

Stereotypical girl?? Don't you mean stereotypical filthy rich socialite? This site happens to be run by girls and this blog is certainly not about shoes.

This quote could fit under many tags: {puzzling, confusing, whaaaa?}
